Community Guidelines

Welcome to Pops! We're building a creative community where everyone can make, share, and discover amazing Pops. Available on iOS, Android, and the web, Pops is a platform where software is the content. Unlike platforms built around videos, images, or text, we're built around interactive software experiences that you create, touch, and remix. These guidelines help us maintain a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space for all.

Treat everyone with courtesy and respect. Assume good intentions and engage in good faith. We're all here to create and explore together.

Inclusive Creativity

Pops is for everyone. We welcome creators from all backgrounds, skill levels, and perspectives. Diversity makes our community stronger.

Creative Freedom & Responsibility

Express yourself freely while being mindful of your impact on others. Great creativity comes with the responsibility to use it thoughtfully.

Learning & Sharing

We encourage learning from each other and building on ideas. When you draw inspiration from others' work, give credit where it's due and add your own creative spin.

Content Standards

All Pops shared on Pops must follow these standards. We use a combination of automated tools and human review to maintain these standards.

Harassment & Bullying

Don't create content that:

• Mocks, intimidates, or demeans others
• Contains name-calling, insults, or personal attacks
• Threatens or encourages threats against anyone
• Engages in unwanted or inappropriate contact
• Targets individuals or groups based on who they are

Hateful Content

We don't allow content that promotes hate or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics. This includes:

• Hate speech or slurs
• Extremist symbols or rhetoric
• Content that dehumanizes or promotes violence against groups
• Stereotypes presented in a harmful or degrading way

Sexual Content

Pops is not a platform for sexual content. Don't create or share:

• Sexually explicit material or pornography
• Nudity presented in a sexual context
• Any sexual content involving or appearing to involve minors (this results in immediate, permanent ban and reporting to authorities)
• Sexual solicitation or offers

Violence & Graphic Content

We don't allow content that:

• Promotes or glorifies real-world violence
• Contains graphic depictions of gore, injury, or death
• Encourages self-harm or suicide
• Provides instructions for violence or dangerous activities

Fictional violence in games may be acceptable depending on context and presentation, but should not be gratuitous or realistic.

Illegal Activities

Don't create content that:

• Promotes or facilitates illegal activities
• Advertises or sells regulated or illegal goods
• Attempts to circumvent our moderation systems
• Violates any applicable laws or regulations

Misinformation

We don't allow content designed to spread harmful false information:

• False claims that could cause real-world harm
• Impersonation of real people or organizations
• Deepfakes or manipulated media presented as real without clear labeling
• Dangerous medical or health misinformation

Privacy Violations

Respect everyone's privacy:

• Don't share others' personal information without their consent
• Don't collect user data deceptively
• Don't create content designed to extract personal information

Intellectual Property

Respect creators' rights:

• Don't copy others' Pops without permission or attribution
• Don't use copyrighted material without proper rights
• Building on ideas is fine - wholesale plagiarism is not

Remixing and creating derivative works with substantial creative changes is encouraged, but always give credit to the original creator.

Spam & Deception

Don't engage in deceptive practices:

• False promises to get engagement (fake giveaways, etc.)
• Clickbait or misleading titles/descriptions that don't match the content
• Spam, including repetitive posting of similar content
• Artificially inflating engagement metrics

Technical Safety

Keep the platform safe and functional:

• Don't create Pops that consume excessive resources or crash devices
• Don't include malicious code, redirects, or exploits
• Avoid flashing or strobing content that could trigger seizures (no patterns faster than 5 Hz)

Moderation

How We Moderate

We use a combination of automated tools and human moderators to review content. Context matters - we consider the intent, presentation, and impact of content when making decisions.

Reporting

If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it using the report button available on each Pop. We review all reports and take appropriate action.

Consequences

Violations may result in:

• Content removal
• Warning to the creator
• Temporary suspension
• Permanent ban from Pops

Severe violations (such as content involving minors or serious threats) result in immediate permanent bans and may be reported to law enforcement.

Appeals

If you believe we made a mistake in moderating your content or account, you can appeal by contacting us at alon@undefinedinc.io. We'll review your case and respond as quickly as possible.

Changes to Guidelines

We may update these guidelines as our community grows and evolves. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of Pops after changes means you accept the updated guidelines.
