Welcome to Pops! This Privacy Policy explains how Undefined Software, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use Pops.

We believe in being straightforward about privacy. This policy tells you what data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you use Pops, you provide us with certain information:

  • Account Information: When you sign up using Google or Apple, we receive your email address and basic profile information from those services.
  • Profile Details: Your chosen username, display name, and profile picture (if you add one).
  • Content You Create: The Pops you build, including any code, designs, and configurations.
  • Interactions: Your likes, saves, comments, and other engagement with Pops in the feed.

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Usage Data: We use Mixpanel to understand how people use Pops, including which features are popular, how long people spend in the app, and what types of Pops get the most engagement.
  • Device Information: Basic technical details like your device type, operating system, and app version to help us fix bugs and improve performance.
  • Log Data: Standard server logs including IP addresses, timestamps, and error reports when something goes wrong.

Information from Third Parties

  • Authentication Providers: When you sign in with Google or Apple, they share basic profile information with us according to their own privacy policies.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the Service: Create your account, store your Pops, and display content in the feed.
  • Improve Pops: Analyze usage patterns to make the app better, fix bugs, and develop new features.
  • Safety and Security: Detect and prevent abuse, spam, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Communication: Send you important updates about the service, respond to your support requests, and notify you about activity on your Pops.
  • Legal Compliance: Meet our legal obligations and enforce our policies.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.

How We Share Your Information

Public Information

When you create and publish a Pop, it becomes publicly visible to all users. Your username and profile information are also public when associated with your Pops.

Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party services to operate Pops:

  • Supabase: Hosts our database and handles authentication
  • Vercel: Hosts the application infrastructure
  • Mixpanel: Provides analytics to help us understand usage patterns
  • Stripe and Apple: Process payments if you purchase premium features (when available)

These providers only access information necessary to perform their services and are contractually obligated to protect your data.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pops, our users, or others.

Your Rights and Choices

You have control over your information:

Access and Update

You can view and edit your profile information, username, and display name at any time through the app settings.

Delete Your Content

You can delete any Pop you've created. Once deleted, it will be removed from the feed immediately.

Delete Your Account

You can delete your account at any time through the app settings. When you delete your account:

  • Your profile and personal information will be permanently deleted
  • Your Pops will remain visible in the feed but will show “deleted account” as the creator
  • This action cannot be undone

Export Your Data

If you'd like a copy of your data, contact us at alon@undefinedinc.io and we'll provide it in a readable format.

Opt Out of Analytics

While we use Mixpanel to improve Pops, you can opt out of analytics tracking in your device settings or by contacting us.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. This includes:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure authentication through trusted providers
  • Regular security updates and monitoring
  • Limited employee access to personal data

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Pops is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at alon@undefinedinc.io.

International Users

Pops is operated from the United States. If you're accessing Pops from outside the US, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using Pops, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Last Updated” date at the top. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or via email.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. If you delete your account, we'll delete your personal information within 30 days, except for information we're required to retain for legal purposes.

Pops created by deleted accounts remain visible (showing “deleted account” as creator) unless separately reported and removed.
